Feminism lies at the core of transformative struggles for equality and justice, yet it is often constrained by monolithic narratives and reductive stereotypes. This Plural Streams of Feminism: Unpacking the Plural, Interconnected, and Sometimes Conflicting Streams of Feminism – Event Outcome Report captures the rich multidimensionality of feminist thought. Originating from a three-day immersive certificate training programme hosted by the IMPRI Gender Impact Studies Centre (GISC) in January 2026, this volume documents the complex genealogies, evolving frameworks, and dynamic contestations that define feminist praxis today.

Expanding on the enduring insight that “the personal is political,” the book reveals how the personal is simultaneously ecological, economic, psychological, and historical. Across six thematic sessions, it demonstrates that gender inequality cannot be analyzed in isolation from interlocking systems of power—including colonial legacies, heteropatriarchy, caste, class, and state authority. From critical appraisals of care work, labor, and legal citizenship to ecofeminism and mental well-being, the discussions encourage moving beyond a single feminist narrative to embrace diverse, evolving traditions.

At its core, this volume emphasizes the need to equip emerging scholars, practitioners, activists, researchers, and policymakers with the critical perspectives and analytical tools required to engage with the fluid boundaries and plural genealogies of feminist movements.
