About the Book

Public policy lies at the heart of governance, equity, and institutional transformation, yet women continue to confront systemic barriers in decision-making and public life. This Young Women Leaders in Public Policy Fellowship (YWLPPF) – Cohort 3.0 – Event Outcome Report underscores the transformative power of women’s leadership across sectors, scales, and communities. Documenting an intensive fellowship convened by the IMPRI Impact and Policy Research Institute between July and September 2025, this volume captures critical reflections on “Women Leading Change Across Sectors and Scales.”

Moving beyond formal titles and symbolic representation, the book illustrates leadership as an active practice—visible in grassroots organizing, trade union advocacy, institutional reform, and community resilience. Across eight intensive days of deliberations, it examines the structural challenges facing women in the workforce, entrepreneurship, climate adaptation, disaster management, and creative storytelling. The discussions emphasize that meaningful participation requires responsive institutions that listen, dismantle entrenched hierarchies, and provide equitable access to finance, markets, and political agency.

At its core, this volume emphasizes the need to equip emerging scholars, practitioners, activists, researchers, and policymakers with the critical perspectives and analytical tools required to engage with the complex challenges of public policy through an inclusive, gender-just lens. By fostering reflective dialogue and interdisciplinary learning, the book contributes to ongoing efforts to nurture the next generation of young women leaders and reimagine policy spaces as collaborative environments grounded in dignity, equity, and shared progress.
