About the Book

This report, “Women’s Sexual & Reproductive Health: Cohort 2 | Theme: Bodies, Rights & Care” is a comprehensive compilation of insights, discussions, and expert knowledge shared during the second cohort of the Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Online National Summer School Certificate Training Course, held from May 26 to 28, 2025. The course was organized by the Gender Impact Studies Center (GISC) at the IMPRI Impact and Policy Research Institute, New Delhi.

Building on the success of its first edition, this cohort brought together a diverse range of public health experts, medical practitioners, researchers, and activists to explore the multidimensional aspects of women’s sexual and reproductive health in India. The sessions aimed to critically engage with the clinical, social, legal, and policy-related dimensions of health issues faced by women, especially those from marginalized and underserved communities.

The course covered key topics such as reproductive tract infections (RTIs), sexually transmitted
infections (STIs), cervical and uterine cancer, human papillomavirus (HPV), HIV, genital tuberculosis, iatrogenic infections, and the psychosocial challenges associated with stigma, access, and systemic neglect. Each session was enriched by case studies, field experiences, and evidence-based discussions that highlighted the urgent need for rights-based, inclusive, and stigma-free healthcare.

This report serves as a valuable reference for students, researchers, healthcare professionals, and gender and development practitioners. It offers meaningful insights for anyone interested in understanding and addressing the complex realities of women’s sexual and reproductive health, and encourages a more inclusive, empathetic, and informed approach to health policy and practice.
