About the Book

Careers in Public Policy – Career Counselling: Event Outcome Report, by Dr Nivedita P Haran, Dr Arjun Kumar, and Bhanvi, is the product of multiple events in IMPRI’s #WebPolicyLearning series. This Compilation of ideas and thoughts of various subject matter experts and practitioners is an approach that seeks to shed light on the ways and opportunities that Public Policy careers offer the people. This Event Outcome Report aims to provide a comprehensive analysis and documentation of numerous career opportunities, scope, and their impact on the formulation and execution of public policy.

About the Author(s)

Dr Nivedita P Haran joined the IAS in 1980; and served in Kerala state as sub-collector (Ottappalam), District Collector (Pathanamthitta & Thiruvananthapuram), Secretary, Principal Secretary, and Additional Chief Secretary in various departments. She also served as Deputy Secretary, Director, and Joint Secretary in the Govt of India. She was also part of the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Kosovo for 5 years.

Dr Arjun Kumar, Director of the IMPRI Impact and Policy Research Institute, New Delhi. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Centre for the Study of Regional Development, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi.
