About the Book
The “EPAYF: Environment Policy and Action Youth Fellowship – Cohort 2.0: An Anthology of Essays” reflects the transformative role of youth-led scholarship in shaping conversations on climate change, ecological degradation, and sustainability. Over three months of immersive engagement, fellows examined the intersections of environment, governance, and society, producing essays that combine rigorous analysis with action oriented perspectives.
The fellowship equipped participants with critical frameworks to explore themes such as climate vulnerability, renewable energy, waste management, biodiversity conservation, and urban resilience. By emphasizing interdisciplinary learning, it highlighted the connections between global agreements, national priorities, and community-based initiatives. This anthology captures that breadth. The essays range from policy analyses to community centered reflections, united by a shared commitment to inclusive and sustainable futures. They challenge conventional approaches, amplify underrepresented voices, and propose innovative solutions for resilience and justice.
What makes this collection distinctive is its grounding in both scholarship and lived experience. The fellows not only analyzed policy frameworks but also reflected on grassroots practices, equity concerns, and youth-led innovations, showing how meaningful change can emerge when theory and practice inform one another. At its core, the collection underscores that addressing environmental crises requires more than awareness—it calls for systemic change, collaboration, and solidarity. We hope these contributions inspire policymakers, practitioners, educators, and citizens to reflect, engage, and act toward a more sustainable and equitable world.
